Two thousand five hundred years ago, a very clever man called Socrates lived in Greece. Young men from all over the country went to learn from him and he said a lot of interesting things. He said them very cleverly and no-one got tired of listening to him.
One summer he built a house, but it was very small and his neighbours asked why he was happy with it.
"You’re a great man. Why do you build a house like a little box?"
"I don’t know why," he said. "The place is small but I am happy if I have good friends with me in my house."
